Hi all,

17 Days ago i telephoned and ordered my upgrade rom AOL 2MB to 8MB. After 3 days or so i started synching at 8128kps on my router insted of 2000 ish and for the last 13 days it's been always synching at 8128kps.

This 10 day period they talk about said that my speed will get higher and lower as they work out what my final connection is gonna be, but in these last 17 days i've always been max download at 230k/s, which is my usual 2mb connection. I rang aol and they just fobbed me off saying reboot my router, is my pc in working order? etc

What should i do? If anyone has an idea, you can reply back here or msn me and i'll give you my full details. I can't get any sense out of AOL

These are my stats..

ADSL Link - Downstream - Upstream
Connection - 8128 kbps - 448 kbps
Line Attenuation - 5 db - 2 db
Noise Margin - 14 db - 29 db

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 2000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1816 kbps

Many Thanks,

Alex

Either keep kicking them till they get the profile reset, or migrate.

They talk a lot of rubbish too. Your profile should have increased with 3 days, and there's no "working out what your final connection is going to be".

I've tried so many times on the phone, but it's always india :(

I've literally just signed up to aol in my new house. So i belive i'm bound for 12 months?

hi

One thing I have seen resolve a stuck profile a couple of times is turn off the router leave it off for at least 5 mins and turn back on do this 2 or 3 times. It has worked in a couple of cases but not many but might be worth trying while you try and get AOL tech to do there jobs.
