Well I've tried to update to the latest Nvidia driver, get a BSOD during the process. According to my control panel I'm on version 285.38 with .62 being the latest.

DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION (c4)
A device driver attempting to corrupt the system has been caught. This is
because the driver was specified in the registry as being suspect (by the
administrator) and the kernel has enabled substantial checking of this driver.
If the driver attempts to corrupt the system, bugchecks 0xC4, 0xC1 and 0xA will
be among the most commonly seen crashes.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000062, A driver has forgotten to free its pool allocations prior to unloading.
Arg2: fffffa8007ece6b0, name of the driver having the issue.
Arg3: fffffa8007eda720, verifier internal structure with driver information.
Arg4: 0000000000000014, total # of (paged+nonpaged) allocations that weren't freed.
Type !verifier 3 drivername.sys for info on the allocations
that were leaked that caused the bugcheck.

Any ideas why?

Thanks

Running a Asus GeForce GTX 560Ti DirectCU II and a Asus M4A79XTD Evo

where did you download the new driver from?
you could try removing the old driver first
From the Nvidia website. I get a blue screen while trying to even uninstall the old driver :/

Boot into safemode

Run driversweeper

http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/

Reboot

Download latest nvidia drivers, install
I'll give it a shot, thanks.

Though it says
Use the official uninstaller(s) of the driver(s) you want to uninstall.
Reboot your PC in Safe Mode.
So surely I need to somehow try and uninstall them without getting a BSOD before trying this

Thanks, will try when I get home. I guess if it Bsods in safe mode then some hardware fault possibly :s

Shouldve also mentioned that the same thing happened a few weeks ago when I was tryig the beta drivers..

Couldn't figure out how to get into safe mode, thought it was F8, managed to though from hitting the reset switch on my PC so it brought up the error recovery thing.

Anyway, uninstalled, drive sweeper, installed. All working on the new drivers :)

Thanks
