My head is really starting to hurt from reading so many posts and reviews trying to understand what monitor to get so could use some help.
Originally i was looking at the u2410 but after hearing about WCG, tinting issues and poor contrast i decided to wait a couple of months for HPzr24w but that came out and i was turned off by lack of 1:1 and seemingly needing a calibrator to make it look good.
Now i've been looking at the u2311h which has great contrast but no 1:1 or aspect mode and is 1920x1080 and i'm stuck.
I know i can't get perfection for this price range but i'd like to have something i won't regret.
My needs are mainly gaming and for something under £500, this will coincide with a new rig (i5/i7, HD 5850/5870) so I'd be looking at getting everything out of it on games such as crysis and the latest titles but i'd also like to have aspect options because i play a lot of older games like shogun total war, alpha centauri, mdk 2, homeworld etc.
I read i can get my graphics card to do the scaling but this isn't an ideal option is it?
Hellllllllllllllllp!
