Stuck on first car to get?

I'd like to recommend a Ford Ka, not everyones cup of tea but great fun to drive, pretty economical and not stupidly slow either.

Firstly, thanks a bunch for all the informative and sometimes lenghty comments. It's all appreciated.

Secondly, where the heck do you all live? Sounds to me like your towns are run by all the kids who don't give a damn about ASBO'S. :D

Well I'm 23 in December, passed my Pass Plus and crime rate around here is at an award winning low. Quinn don't take in account mods, or so it seems. My insurance for that Civic are as follows:

3rd Party + Fire & Theft: £569.43
Comprehensive: £1019.24

So, is £1,500 reasonable for that car?

Another quick question, how about a Toyota MR2 circa 90-00? How come they are sooo cheap? My mate at uni got one for £1,500, and they aren't exactly rare.

Your going to have to declare every mod to the insurance company, not worth it TBH
Or, you could pretend you haven't got a clue about cars and say you thought they were standard! :D

Ant then if/when your/or some one crashes into your car, making it a write off, and the insurance company see its not standard, your insurance is void :)

False! The insurance on the wheels will be void. They may attempt to remove the comprehensive part of your policy, however will have to prove that the wheels would have affected you obtaining the policy. They can also NOT remove your third party coverage and so you won't be driving without insurance. In the event of a claim, they may attempt to recover the costs from the incorrectly insured, but again, that would be difficult. :)

Okay, closing stages. All mods and personal preference about the car aside, Is that Honda Civic worth £1,500?

If not, how much?
