stuck on mass effect

so i have just landed on the mining planet of therum (i think!) ive got as far as getting to the camp, where i get a cut scene of this thing that crawls on the metal girders then a load more geth coming down on drop ships or something, has anyone got any tips for doing this bit? i am just getting my ass handed to me on a silver platter! im not trained in either using a assault rifle or the shotgun so it makes battling quite difficult, and my squadmates are no better either.

thanks. i'll give it a go. i really dont wanna give up on this game or get bored like i do with others.

cheers guys, i did it last night! man im either getting too old for games, or i was just never any good as im finding this game difficult even on medium. lol. the fight just after that with the krogan and a couple of geth i struggled on as well. i did it in the end with the help of the hammer II sniper rifle
