Stuck on Mass Effect

A little late to the party I know but I've just started playing this and I'm a little stuck. I've finished the first mission and exposed Saren, then they made me a Spectre and gave me the Normandy. Spoke to Captain Anderson etc and got on board my ship. All fine and dandy so far except I don't have any other destinations on my Galaxy Map :confused:

Am I right in thinking that I should be able to travel to other destinations now or am I being thick? My missions only state going to other planets and away from The Citadel. Can anyone help?

Basically go into your ship and go to the starfield map thing, and you can now travel to the different planets that are listed on there.

That's what I've done but there are no other plants listed on there, only The Citadel.

you need to zoom out on the galaxy map to look at another systems/galaxies that you can travel to. I think it's the Y button.

Hmmmm, there should be other planets like Novaria as thats where I am currently (playing the PC version though). Are you sure there's nothing you have missed, any NPC's you need to talk to?

Edit: And yeah, try zooming out, it will show the whole galaxy when you zoom right out and should have the different planets.

Zoom out of the galaxy map, then choose somewhere else.

Thanks for that, I didn;t see the additional zoom command when I zoomed out the first time.
