Hi all

Long time browser first time poster ;).

I'm in a bit of quandry, the problem is I'm looking at building a high top end system for hosting a lot of virtual machines (6-8 I think). While I won't do this for another month or so (moving house costs atm ;) ) I've been looking now, my current thoughts are as follows:

Pair of Opty 175/180s (depends on costs at the time)
4 GB RAM (Ideally a pair of 2GB sticks)
2 400GB SATA HD's mirrored

I'm completely stuck though on a Mobo, I've gone through OC and find no duel 939 socketed mobos, OC used to stock some duel socket boards but no sign now. I've gone through my favourite mobo makers sites and nothing there either. Do these boards exist and if so who makes um and where can I find some info?

Any info is welcome

Regards,

CFox.

Dude, with dual core CPU's now available, 2 CPU motherboards aern't made anymore, I expect someone will tell me I'm wrong but, seriusoly look into a Dual Core Athlon 64 chip :)

2 CPU motherboards are still made, but all the ones I've seen are socket 940 not 939.

The purpose was to have 2xDual Core processor (4 Core performance) since VM's take a lot of RAM and processing power.

You'll need 2-way dual core Opteron's if you want that.
