Hi

I've got a really weird problem with windows 7 networking. No matter what I do I cant seem to change the networking profile on my sons PC to home from public.

If I try and connect to a network it says no network connections available.

The PC can use the internet, ping all the other PC's on my home network etc etc but for some reason it cant connect to a homegroup because it's stuck on a public profile.

In the network control panel it tells me there are no network connections so there is nothing to click on to change the profile.

If I add a second card, it shows a park bench but there is no option to change or add a profile

I dont think it's a firewall issue as it still does it even with the firewalls disabled and although i'm pretty good at these sort of things this one has me stumped.

Any ideas?

Hi

Thanks for the help, but I tried this already. I also tried un-installing the card and it's drivers but it still refuses to play ball :(

On the subject, is there a way to permanently and finally disable the damn network profiles in windows 7? They annoy the hell out of me.
