Stuck on Stalker. :(

Help!

I'm just at the bit where I've met the bartender. I have to go to the X18 labs but I decided to do other stuff before hand. One, was to find this other blokes rifle. I've gone to the area on the PDA and I can't find it at all. :mad:

Spent like a good half an hour wandering around.

Secondly, I'm mean to help these scientists. The main bloke was killed, but the PDA still says I have to go talk to him?! lol ermmm he is on a heap on the floor. I took his data stick, but it just doesn't complete/fail the task.

Any help!??!

For the rifle, it says on the PDA. So I go to that area, it's like around loads of train cabs. But I can't find it. The only thing there exactly where the PDA points is a little empty cabin with some lockers. If I open the lockers there is a stash box but that does not contain anything.

I went underneath where it states also into like a place with loads of electricity, put on my enviro suite but found nothing except for a big .45 hand gun.

Is it well hidden or should it just be lying on the ground?

With regards to the scientists... what lab? My PDA icon won't change and points to the crashed chopper and says "talk to blah blah". But I can't because he's dead.

I remember looking for that rifle for ages and eventually assuming the quest was bugged, but I think I heard someone mentioned that it was underground.

I remember trying to find that rifle, i could never find it.. looks simple from looking at the map but i had no luck, so gave up.

I dont suppose you have a save from a bit earlier so you can try to get to him again? cause basically he takes you to his lab. and that is part of the main quest though he dies after this.

Go back to where you found the .45 handgun underground. It's around there somewhere in an empty container.

Try again! It's there, not bugged. The other side of the crate with the modified pistol is another long crate, it's open on the further end so walk along the top, drop down and walk back inside it.

The PDA never lies ('cept for bugs) always get RIGHT on top of where something should be and work it out.

Yea, the 'rifle' is just a generic double-barreled shotgun IIRC anyway. It's in there, right at the back I think (underground).

Not sure about the Professor (Sarkov?) - don't know what happens if you let him die. I suspect if you just continue on, if you can, it'll become clear. Not hard to save him though, if you reload

Thanks for the help! Will try and check again tonight.

I may reload the game and see if I can do that part again. This has to be the only game where I have loads of saves and where I save like every 2 minutes! (It doesn't help that everything is miles away).
