Stuck pixel?

I've never had a dodgy pixel before and it looks I finally have one in the top left of the screen. Is this stuck or dead, can anyone tell? This is on my new replacement screen that I just installed tonight on my Dell Vostro. The seller does say "Pixel Policy: ISO: Class 1, IIS 1:1:1, E/Mail me for Manufacturer's IIS guidelines. 1 dead Pixel is not a fault." So I can't return it.

I tried 10 minutes of this http://www.jscreenfix.com/ but didn't work. Anyone know if this link below would be safe and worthwhile to try?

Here, it's above the U in 'AUO'

Try leaving jscreenfix on over night. If that doesn't work, it might be dead.

Thanks, I'll try that. I haven't done any gentle rubbing yet as some people recommend, so I suppose that might be worth a try as a second option.

I thought dead pixels might be black, and stuck pixels bright, but I guess dead pixels can be bright too?

They might just be permanently stuck pixels tbh.

I guess so, yeah. Well, it's not in my direct line of view, though I'm conscious of it at the moment and keep noticing it quite easily against dark backgrounds. But hopefully I'll eventually forget about it if it doesn't disappear.

edit: Just tried the lifehacker.com fix on link above but didn't work.

Can someone clear something up for me. I left feedback yesterday for the new screen, despite the pixel :

"Pity about the dead pixel but still, very good ebayer & fast delivery!. A++"

Reply from the seller
"The auction clearly states it has a dead pixel, and its sold as grade A-"

I bought this on Buy it Now, Item Condition: New, not 'New other'. More than 10 available, 16 sold.
There is nothing on the page that says it has a dead pixel. There is only what appears to be a guideline to pixel policy.

What it says is:

'Item Specifics:

Size: 15.6” (diagonal viewable area)

Resolution: 1366 x 768 HD

Finish: Matte Anti-Glare

Connector type: 40 Pin, Bottom Left

Back light type: LED

Warranty: 2 Years

Pixel Policy: ISO: Class 1, IIS 1:1:1, E/Mail me for Manufacturer's IIS guidelines. 1 dead Pixel is not a fault.'

Saying '1 dead pixel is not a fault' may be true, but was I meant to know that the monitor actually HAS a dead pixel from that description and if not, do I have any comeback?

They've shown goodwill and let me return it for a full refund including return postage after I'd persuaded them that their listing was unclear. They've now changed it to new other and specifically put that the monitors come with some dead pixels. I returned the screen today and restored my old screen which still just about works. Then I'm buying another from them for a few quid more with confirmed no dead pixels.
