could an don please make a poll

how many of you have had a monitor with stuck pixels?

0 - zero monitors with stuck pixels
1 - 1 monitor with stuck pixels
2 - etc
3 - etc
4 - etc
5+ - 5 or more monitors with stuck pixels

ive had 4 tft's all with zero stuck pixels, all of them different makes too, am i just lucky? or is it very few have stuck pixels, then you hear other people saying out of the 10 monitors they have had 4 of them had stuck pixels?????? maybe its just cheap screens are more proned to it? or is it just simply quality control?

I currently have 3 monitors all with 0 stuck pixels (and no before someone says "CRT" or something they are TFT ;))

One a Phillips 20" wide one a Dell 2007 and the other the DGM OCUK 24" ^.^

I've had 6 different TFT monitors over the past 5 years ranging from 17" through 19" to current 21" wide screen gateway and none of them have had faulty pixels though a couple did have slight backlight bleed problems but not severe. :)

Ive had a total of 5 TFT's over the years (24" and below) and 2 of them have 1 stuck pixel each

Ive also had about 4 LCD TV's ranging up to 37" and had 0 dead pixels on any of them

my brother has the dell 3007 and not a single dead pixel.

I on the otherhand have managed to somehow perform the magical task of getting a dead pixel on my CRT. When i say dead pixel, i know its not realy a dead pixel, but it is a small black dot a bit smaller then a pixel that has never worked, im guessing it must be some sort defect with the shadow mask.

Just received a Samsung 2232BW Pebble monitor from OCuK.

One dead pixel it seems :(. About 1 inch up from the bottom, bright blue. Not sure if I can fix it myself or massage it out... have tried applying quite a lot of pressure and turning the monitor On/Off, but it's stuck there.

I don't suppose you can RMA if you're given only one accursed dead pixel?

seriously over-rated problem, we just had 30 new monitors in the office courtesy of Samsung, not a single dead pixel...

I've had 5 TFTs.

1 x 15" Video7 - No Dead/Stuck Pixels

1 x 17" Hyundai Q17 - 1 Stuck (dark red, only visable on a white screen, just off centre to the left)

1 x 17" Hyundai Q17 (RMA for above due to a later fault) - No Dead/Stuck Pixels

1 x 17" Digimate El Cheepo 17" - 1 Bright Green Stuck Pixel right in the middle

1 x 22" Belinea 2225 - No Dead/Stuck Pixels

Two dead pixels over huge amounts of hardware. One on a refurb Toshiba laptop (Dissappeared anyway), and one on an incredibly cheap 17" LCD 3 years ago. Gone through at least another 10 things with various sizes & shapes of LCDs on, and never seen any more :)

IMHO, the problem was probably worse with the first LCD monitors and suchlike, hence why we're seeing far less dead pixels these days.

I have a Hyundai B91D which has no stuck pixels at all and a samsung 223bw which has/had 1 which is bright green. I think i have managed to get it to go away using various tricks i found on the internet. Only time will tell i suppose!

Itll be damn annoying if it does come back though, bright green isnt easy to ignore when your watching a film and its a dark scene!

Yea my stuck pixel seems to have a mind its own, Its not there at the moment but it will be back in a few hours.
