Mine are stuck at 42/41 on my e7500, and ive heard that this is a common problem with core 2 processors.

Question is, is there a way to fix it? Will a bios update have any chance or am i just stuck with it :(

My E8600 had stuck sensors, tried various methods but no joy.
CPU works as it should, Intel basically said the CPU would protect it's self in a event if it needed to.

Are they stuck full stop? Won't move? Or just don't go above or below a certain temp?

Just stuck below, anything above 42/41 and they read fine so its not a real problem. Just annoying (as anything is when it doesn't work as it should) so I decided to see if it was fixable.

I just got a Q9650 - two sensors are stuck, one at 43 and another at 39. They do rise when I use Prime95 though -

I was, initially, a little peeved really - you would have thought that intel, who build how many transistor switches into a wafer of silicon, would be able to get a thermometer to blo*** work????

Researched on the web - common occurrence. As long as the temps go up when they get hotter then all is OK - they are there to throttle the CPU should the temp get a little too toastie.
