So I'm currently playing with overclocking an i7 960, I'm following this guide
http://www.overclockers.com/3-step-guide-overclock-core-i3-i5-i7/
Im completely stuck at part 2 - Memory.
Following the guides instructions I can get the bclk 1 hour stable at 210 using a qpi/vtt of 1.415v and multiplier at 12
I can't get anywhere with my memory though. Im using this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-205-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1389 so it should be good for 1600 Im not trying to get beyond that. So I set bclk to 200 and set the memory to 1600 and 1.66v and left qpi/vtt at 1.415, no luck, so I followed the instructions increasing the qpi/vtt all the way up to 1.575 and I still don't get any further than Windows loading screen before the PC crashes. I tried lowering the bclk to 160 still no go. All the other voltages are at auto, I only changed what the guide said to.
Any ideas where I am going wrong?
