Student finance, changing address for higher grant illegal?

surely you just proved what he was saying ? you lived off your maximum loan for first year

he has no chance of living off his loan because it will be tiny compared to what you got or would get

its the same madness as the EMA stuff where you could be part of a five child family that earns 31k and get no support. yet a single kid whos parents earn 29k gets full support
 
You should have seen the place i lived my first year as i couldnt get in halls, there was 2 murders within 50yards fo each other on the same day one day and it was a ****hole of a place. I barely survived there.

Now pay attention to my 3rd and 4th year as i wrote it... i worked fulltime and lived very well for a student with no student loan but just working

Student loan in this country is a joke. I was only entitled to the minimum loan which meant I couldnt even afford the insurance on the 540i I wanted :(

Back in the real world I dont quite understand why the loan is means tested - its a loan, you have to pay it back, it should be the same for everyone. Generally speaking its those from the families that are not entitled to maximum loan that will end up paying it back quicker anyway.
