Student laptop

im always on the move, so im deciding to get rid of my desktop. and buy a laptop

my budget is around £600
and im looking for the following two makes preferably core duo 2

IBM thinkpad
HP NX model

i mainly use the computer for work and occasional gaming
i want the laptop to have long battery life...and good cooling..so that it doesnt overheat..
