So, yea.

Imagine you... lost the form for this and totally forgot all about it until today. How do I sort this particular mess out? I've had a look around the SLC website but it makes references to my LEA. I called them and nobody even answered the phone.

Anyone had this problem before?

I did this last year as well. Can't remember how I fixed it :o
 
Check the opening hours on your local LEA website?

Failing that, I think all forms are available as PDFs on studentfinance.co.uk so you could print them off there.
 
I forgot about it till early September last year and still got it on time :p I just phoned my LEA then handed in the forms. There's not much more you can do really other than hand them in ASAP you'll either get your loan payment on time or you won't. There is a new system for some areas this year where you deal directly with the SLC so it might be worth checking if you are in one of these areas.
 
The Student Loans Company are carp. I got a text off them today saying my parents needed to fill in financial information but my dad did it all online months ago! :mad:

With my brother at uni we get problems with them every year.

Heh, they're sending letters to my term-time address at the moment, even though I'm at home. My flatmate's opening my letters for me, so at least I know what's going on :p

Even with the letters you never really know what's going on. I hate to think they're sending my lettters to the halls I've just left.
 
dont worry about it tooo much

my housemate in second year forgot about it until october when we all got our student loan money, and he never got his

took about a week for the penny to drop...

anyway, he got it all in the end.


but he never heard the end of it lol.
 
Student loan....erm....excuse me......*Sound of someone running off into the distance, driving to his parents house, destroying his old room to find the form and panicing when its not there anymore*
 
when i did placement i got 66% of my normal loan and had to pay 50% of my fees.. for "use of the library and other facilities"
 
I'm getting £2160 student loan this year (and fee's are £600), I usually get the full amount + a small 'grant' so that would appear to be the max...

Also the first payment is earlier, rather than the end of september i'm apparantly gonna get it on the 16th august :)

I got 0%. You are earning so why should they give you a loan? I wanted to stick it in an ISA :(

This thread is great as I have not arranged anything yet for student loan next year though to be honest I was hoping I would get told its too late and parents would "lend" me the money ;)
