Im not happy at all, I need some advice.

I was at uni about 5 years ago, I was only there for 4 months and im starting a new job next month. So I was thinking that i dont really want £90ish to go out of my bank as I think I have paid the remainder and even paid more.

Last year (Feb 06 to April 07) my statment said I only had £250 left on it. Which I only recieved the statment December 07.
I dont know why ive left it this late to check it etc. However phoned them up today, said that going on the amount of the statment surely ive paid it.
Said to them adding up all of the deductions which has been average £30 a month sometimes a lot more, from my pay slips I must have overpaid about £180. The guy was of absolutly NO help what so ever.

"sorry i dont know because the inland revenue takes the money"
"sorry we dont have the balance as our computer system cant do that"

Although he did say when i gets all sorted they will refund me

What he said to do is to send all my pay slips off to the Student loan company and wait for 45 days and see what happens. He wouldnt even give me a reference number
What do I do? ive spoken to my company accountant and he has nothing to do with them, student loan company was awful.

please help!!

That's about all you can do.

I paid mine off a few months ago and had a letter saying that my balance was clear, but it's still being taken out of my pay slip.
They owe me over £800 at the moment, I was on the phone today and they've put another stop request in, so hopefully it will take effect soon!

If you're just sending your payslips to them now you're at the same stage I was back in about December. You should speak to your payroll at work and if they haven't heard from the SLC within a month or so try and speak to the loans company and find out when the stop notification was sent.

I spoke to them again today, actually spoke to someone helpful.

I have overpaid by £107.21 and they have put a stop on the account. all i need to do is send off the payslips.

thanks for your help :)
