student sex attack

Sexual assault is sexual assault does is matter what the offending act is that followed the CCTV? And she has a right to some privacy about the matter.

But what if the sexual assault was the arm around her that is also touching her booby?

Also the CCTV operator is clearly knows something is going on since he's moving the camera around to focus on them so why aren't the police called? They were walking for quite some time.

Hey I'm not the one who made a pointless thread on the basis that he failed to read a news article properly.

No you're just the superior human being who looks down on people who ask a very simple question. Keep digging if you want though, it's actually entertaining now.

edit: it's 1am in GD on Ocuk and you're moaning about pointless threads? Plenty more for you to troll...

Don't take it personally - I merely pointed out that you failed to read the article.

Putting your arm around someone isn't generally considered to be a sexual assault....

If she'd been brutally murdered they probably wouldn't have shown that on the footage either - they might have shown her with the suspect moments before the murder - he might have put his arm around her - this wouldn't ordinarily mean that putting your arm around someone is murder.

Do you see how 'footage leading up the the assault' is not the same thing as 'footage of the assault'?

Poor, Biohazard! Once again, the article is at fault since it is highly nebulous. You must see that, at least.

ALL we can tell from what it says is that the assault amounts to nothing more than a man putting his arm around a girl. The article, nowhere, mentions rape, just 'sexual assault'. What 'sexual assault' is remains unclear. Therefore the facts in the article are all we have to by. Beyond that we are just going round in circles.

No, you can't read the article properly.

Poor you.

It can take time to respond, it looked like a couple of minutes to me.

They maybe found the footage of him parking up after?

Looking at the time on the CCTV footage he parked up around 3:33, meets the girl at around 3:34-3:35 then they walk for a bit. Then the camera time stamps are very hard to see but they are still walking for a few minutes. Then you see him walking back down the lane alone at 3:41. Whatever he did, he did very quickly.

You still don't get it do you?

I asked for confirmation of something. Most normal people will just say "it looks like this is the case...". Whereas you went for the unnecessarily abrasive response of "You fail at reading!". Such is the nature of internet forums I suppose.

Are you the girl mentioned in the article by any chance because you seem to be getting very upset over something that seems like nothing?

All I've read in this thread is you and Dowie being oversensitive towards each other. His comment wasn't even that bad lol.

You do have to question how many reported rapes are actually rapes. When this is apparently reported as a "sex attack".

All of them: rape has a very specific definition. And go and ask your girlfriend/wife how much she would like having her boob grabbed by a total stranger (which is what I assume happened in the original story) to get some idea of why it is taken seriously. The problem is that all men think it's a joke, and all women know it is not. Because they understand it is often a precursor to a more serious attack and it scared the **** out of them.

The article is an APPEAL to trace a man who sexually assaulted a young woman, the footage was released to aid that effort to identify him, not so we could all gawp at some poor girl being attacked.

The article clearly states that the footage relates to events LEADING UP to the attack and are consequently not of the attack itself. This is obvious as showing any footage they may have of the sexual assault itself would be hugely prejudicial in any case they bring against him.

The article gives no information or detail on the alleged sexual assault itself, again this would be prejudicial and it is unlikely that the Police released that kind of detailed information to begin with.

It seems that the OP didn't consider this and assumed the attack was being described as a man putting his arm around a woman's shoulders, when the article is quite clear that the attack took place after the events in the footage.

Where exactly, did I assume that?

They seem to be taking it very seriously so I assume something more actually took place but you never know these days!

Another fail at reading the OP.

What is it with some people and their desperate attempts to try to make someone look bad on the internet?

To a man like myself who has a 16 year old daughter, that CCTV footage is your worst nightmare, Its gone 3 in the morning, she's on her own, looks like she's had a drink and is basicaly Vulnerable..

To have some guy even approach her must have scared the hell out of her. we don't know the full extent of what actualy happend but it's easy to worry about where it could end up after watching that guy, clock her from his car, park up, follow her, approach her and put his arm round her.

If any of you guys posting your handbag war on here have a daughter then you'll have an understanding of how bad that type of situation is for a girl to be in..

At times i think there's more keyboard warriors on Overclockers than infantry in the Chinese army :( so many threads get overtaken by them it's becoming a joke...
