Students Sue 'Borat'



Two students are suing the makers of the new Borat film after allegedly getting them drunk and making them watch a Pamela Anderson porn video.

The pair claim they signed a 'release' form after "heavy drinking" and were told the scenes would not be shown in the US, according to TMZ.Com.

But the movie, which has become a No1 hit in the US and UK, features a scene in a motor home where Borat, aka Sacha Baron Cohen, gets drunk with three frat boys.

The group then watches the infamous Pamela Anderson/Tommy Lee home movie porn flick.

The plaintiffs claim they suffered "humiliation, mental anguish, and emotional and physical distress, loss of reputation, goodwill and standing in the community..." because the movie was released in the US and because the two were identified.

They are claiming unspecified damages, the website says.

Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan looks set to become a worldwide hit.

Cohen plays Borat, a TV reporter from Kazakhstan, who travels the US on a mission to find the former Baywatch actress Pamela Anderson.

The lawsuit is against 20th Century Fox and One America Productions.

I'm quite surprised the seen wasn't faked tbh. They really were off their heads though - I'm guessing the case will be decided on when they got them to sign the releases - because they'd be in no state to understand what they were signing shortly after the end of that scene, and if there really was a clause saying they wouldn't show it in the US; which I doubt.

How on earth is that even a claim, hell i fancy taking a lawsuit out on my council, when they ask what for il say 'Unpecified Damages'. :p

Mate, it means it doesn't say how much money they are claiming. Not that the damage they have suffered is unspecified :p

Because watching naked women is more embarrasing and abnormal than seeing a violent gangsta film. As long as they didn't get their meat out I don't see the problem. Any blokes making fun of them probably watch porn too.
 
From what I've read, the producers of Borat present release forms first before filming anything (and before Borat makes an appearance), so I would guess they've got their backs covered on that one :)
 
To be honest i'd sue as well.

If what they say is correct, they plied them with alcohol, took out a porn vid, led stupid conversations, and then once they got them very drunk gave them documents to sign.

I doubt its that one sided though. :rolleyes: But i'd certainly try and get some money if i was made to look like such a plank!
