Studio 15 HD issues

Right, I recieved my Dell laptop yesterday. Its been running fast however, on random occasions the harddrive will start making clicking sounds. These sounds are at regular intervals and can go on for minutes or hours. Everytime it makes a clicking sounds, my harddrive slows down, its really annoying especially when im browsing the internet and everything pauses.

What could it be?

I've tried disabling superfetch + indexing but it still does it.

4gb ddr2 ram
320gb 7200rpm

I've noticed similar with mine. I've heard the noise of the drive heads parking but it also seems to make a slight ticking noise. It just ticks every second. Maybe there's a watch in there lol. Not noticed any performance issues though.
