Hi Guys,

I am currently performing a study on some of the insecurities of Wireless routers. As part of my research I am interested as to which routers are being shipped with many of these "free router" deals that are currently in abundance.

If anyone has received a "free router" from their ISP could you please list what model it was and who your ISP is.

Also if possible could you say whether or not the "Smart Wizard Setup" installation offered security configuration or whether one must log into the web interface and configure this manually on your particular model.

Many thanks, i shall make sure the forum and post if referenced in my report :)

my flatmates be* connection came with a speedtouch 785, with WPA encryption enabled.

in general, most routers will come with encryption enabled, as i believe there was a court case in the US which, although not explicitly requiring it, made it highly advisable for ISPs to ship them this way
