Stuff to do.

Got some days off work in a couple weeks, I always spend time off work at home on PC and never do anything and it's starting to annoy me, so I really need to do something.

I don't have many friends and most of them will be working anyway so suggestions for stuff to do on my own is fine.

I was thinking of things like Thorpe Park or Alton Towers, but is it odd to go there by myself?

I go to the cinema on my own all the time :)

I went away to Devon for 3 nights on my own once as well. Was a bit odd at first, but fine in the end.

I occasionally do if it's a movie I really want to see any everyone else has already seen it.

What was it you got up to in Devon? My main worry about going away for a few days is spending all the time in a hotel on my phone or something lol

No it wouldn't be odd. Just go and have fun there.

If it were me then I would book a cheap last minute few days away somewhere hot even if it's in my own.

Thanks, I don't really like doing things on my own but I kind of need to so going to force myself to go do something and enjoy.

How far you willing to travel? Any other hobbies?

Anywhere in UK really that I can drive to doesn't matter too much about distance as the drive will be enjoyable. I used to go climbing which was fun but I suffered an injury last year which has and still is preventing me from doing it. :(

Will second this. Heard you can pay the ladies with chips there.. U certainly won't be alone

Sounds good thanks guys, added to the list of possible stuff.

I went for walks, went to the monkey place down there, sat on the beach. I'll admit it was a bit weird when I went out for food in the evenings asking for a "table for one" but by the 3rd night it was fine. I chatted to the odd random, and sat in various places reading me kindle. It helped that the weather was nice as that meant I wanted to get out and about.

Thanks, will probably stick with just a day out somewhere first and see how that goes but added to my list for something to do next time.

The older I get the more time I seem to spend alone..:(

As my mates I used to spend time with now all have family's..

Similar thing is happening atm, need to find new ones lol.

Living in Stafford how about driving over to Cannock and renting a mountain bike for the day? Or if you're happy to drive a little further then Llandegla in Wales (8 miles away from Wrexham) could also be a good choice as well. Unless of course your climbing injury means you can't.

I probably can't, it's something wrong with my thumb it just very slow at healing. Using it too much just makes it worse so have to be careful.
Been for xray at hospital a week ago and just waiting to go back to see what that shows.

First off you need to let go of feeling weird doing stuff on your own.

I'm hoping doing stuff on my time off will help with that. The more I do the easier it should get I'd imagine.

Go for a walk in the hills. Cliché, but nothing quite like finding yourself and doing a bit of soul searching on your own in the countryside.

Indeed, I did start to go walking up Cannock Chase which was nice but stopped doing it for some reason, any suggestions on where to go?
