Stumped - Help with File Access

Hi guys,

I have an interesting problem, I need to allow some users temporary access to installation files (Office, Adobe, etc) on a file server but only to execute the files not to copy them to a local drive, this is to prevent them installing them on their personal machines. Anyone know how I can achieve this with Windows or some 3rd party app?

What operating system, and are you using Directory Services (Active Directory)?

If it's Windows 2000/2003, you should read up on Software Installation and Maintenance using the Windows Installer and Group Policy (should be available online). Users need only read access to the shared folder and there are elevated permissions available.
