Upgraded the phone the other day and just taken a photo which I'd now like to get off the phone on to the PC (Windows 7) I have Dropbox installed and that used to copy new photos off the phone when I connected it to the PC. That's stopped working. The other way, I thought, was to use Windows File Exploxer and there as Apple iPhone 'drive'. No Apple iPhone was appearing yet the phone was recognised by iTunes. I tried troubleshooting the generic apple device in Control Panel -> Devices and Printers but Windows said nothing was wrong. So I deleted the device and reinstalled it.

I now have an iPhone in Windows explorer but it contains no files. So how do I get the new photo off?

TIA

Log in to iCloud.com and pull it off there.

I'd install the iCloud windows app - that will show your iCloud photos in your photos folder in Windows without the phone connected.

Panic over - after several unplugging / replugging in the lightning connector the phone suddenly said "allow device to access photos..." I said yes and now all is well with my world again.

Thanks for the quick response Minstadave :)
