Goddammit! Not only did I make the mistake of buying the Tesco excusive The Wolverine & X-Men Origins Wolverine Bluray last week as it seemed good value, only to find the Adamantium Bluray collection on Amazon Lightning Sale for £28 (grrr), but I now find out that there's an extended cut of the film, but only available if you buy the 3D version. Which was also in the Adamantine edition, naturally. The 3D version also comes with the 2D version, which I assume would also be the extended version. Goddamit!!!! Getting fed up with this constant cycle. I rarely buy things on release day as I've been burnt too many times before, but now that Blockbuster is shutting down I have no access to new films. Gah... rant over :/

And to make it worse, the only version that's extended is the 2D version that's bundled in the 3D set. So if you want to watch the 2D extended and have no 3D TV or no interest in 3D you have to pay through the nose for something you don't want. It's no wonder people torrent these things when the industry just takes a dump on the consumer.

I think there is only so far you can complain about a deal, because thats down to the specific retailers. You are talking about a box that retails for nearly £50. So while a substantial deal price drop makes it substantially cheaper, that was a limited deal, so I don't think you can take that to feel like you missed out too much by not spotting it. Amazon's flash black friday sales are to get you interested and buy other things.

The Bluray 3D version appears to come with all the versions you want from the expensive box set, though given its a few pounds more than the normal Bluray which doesn't have the 3D or Extended version.

As for the 3D version not being extended, that's down to the fact that the extra minutes of film won't have been post-converted as they were cut from the film by the Studio, so they were never in 3D in the first place.

There are some great Director's Cuts out there and while I've not seen this one of Wolverine, I get the feeling its not going to be one I'd be missing out on by not having seen it anyway.

So what other movies have you recently purchased?
Just so I know to look out for the extra special editions that will be sale soon :p
