Gone and tried to get abit of dust off my mirror in my camera and touched the focus lens for my viewfinder :( Cannot for the life of me clean it.

Anyone recommend any good shops who can in the area of yorkshire or humberside?

Its a 400d eos, Im a wally so will have to pay to get it sorted as its gone messed up :(
 
I've changed the viewfinder in my 5Dii, worse comes to worst, you can replace it easy enough.

It is a pain to clean though as it is not a flat and smooth surface, it has tiny tiny ridges.
 
Yep noticed cleaning is out the window as running a cotton bud revealed its ridged.

Is it a hard job Raymond i was thinking of letting a shop do it to be fair as then i also have a warranty for such is all. Iv found the part online 3 days shipping to me for 11 pounds its just having a steady enough hand to fit it without damaging it or getting more dust into the camera
 
It's quite easy to do, it comes with a little tool to do it in. just clips on and clips down.

Just take your time. :)
 
Mind you if the worst comes to the worse and you manage to totally destroy the camera you can get another on ebay for only £100 :p

Oh dear, what are you doing !?

Don't touch the mirror, it is actually more delicate than the sensor (which is behind a piece of glass). The mirror on its surface is unprotected, and it's advice not do touch it or clean beyond a blower.

The general advice is if it does not affect focusing, leave it alone.
 
Making a real mess, its going off to canon :') 36 quid for one of there service centers to sort it out for me and replace the part along with cleaning mirror and sensor

That will work i guess
