MSN has just decided that my password is wrong. This was the stored password which I haven't changed, and it was working fine a few minutes before.

I've tried the reset password thing, but whenever I enter the info (location, postal code and secret question) to get my password reset, it tells me it's wrong.

Now this is the stupid thing - to ask for help, they don't have an email address, no that would be faaaar too easy. They have a webnote system which sends replies to your hotmail address. You know, the one I can't get into. Genius.

Anyone got any ideas?

CAPS LOCK? I know it sounds obvious but I've done it a couple of times.

Haven't filled any forms in online for your bank/ebay/paypal etc have you?

Don't think so. I'm on a passworded wireless network running through a router and have a software firewall too. I've not noticed anything else strange and the Mrs' laptop on the same network is fine.

Doesn't stop someone resetting your Hotmail password through the secret question, and then resetting the secret answer...

Really, what are the chances of it being hacked? I had a password that was just a random string of letter and numbers, that no-one would ever guess.

It could have been phished I guess. There's been a lot of them stupid MSN viruses going around recently.

I'm clever enough not to click random links that arrive by MSN though... :P

I've (finally after a good 20 minutes searching) found a better webnote form on the Live website that's specially for this kind of thing, in which you camn specify a different reply address.
