i have a jeantech 1000w absolute psu and as you probably know allready its modular, ive just installed my two 8800gt's and have them connected via the 2 leads theat come with the cards (6pin conector in the card splitting into 2 normal conectors). Now my psu has 4 pci-e slots on the back and i have the leads, there 6 pin leads the same but the wiring is differant, the lead that come with the card has yellow and black in the first 2 pins,2 brown in the same pin in the middle and again yellow and black in the 3rd set of pins if that makes sence, the ones with the psu have wires to all 6 pins as appose to 5,can i stiil use them?the lead from my old 8800gts is the same as the gt,s so it aint just them....thanks guys:)

Ok imagine the above diagram is the connector that come with the g-card,the stars indicate a wire is connected,in columb 1 there is a yellow and black cable connected, columb 2 there is 2 brown wires connected to the same connection, columb 3 has again a yellow and a black.

now the above diagram is the conector that comes with the psu,it has wires connected to all pins, they are for pci-e so can i still use them and not kill the cards?id like to run them separate to everything else you see....thanks:p

ok guys i think im making this to complicated lol,all i need to know is can i use the pci-e leads that come with my psu to connect straight to the graphics card?or do i need to use the lead that came with the card?(the 6-pin that is conected to 2 molex conectors?)sorry for bumping this but i really need to know its ok:rolleyes:thanks guys;)

The cable which comes with the card is for people who have old PSU's which dont have a PCI-E 6 pin cable. Use your PSU's 6 pin PCI cable.

You should have asked for comfirmation before buying that PSU for your PC though. You could have gone for a PSU which was half the price and still more than enough :) Or are you planning on Quad SLi? :D

TBH at the time i bought it id just got my q6600 and wanted to OC it and read that the ampage accross the 12v rails was improtant,i read that this puppy had 20A accross each of the 4 12v rails and it was modular,i allso intended going sli which i have now so thought the 1000w would do nicely,i allso thought the £180 pricetag would ensure i'd got a good psu,and as an added bonus its SOOOOO quiet:):)

Ah, whatever floats yours boat. I've just noticed you have added a signature. Just a heads up, the rules state it can only be a maximum of 4 lines :)
