Stupid question about hose clips/jubilee clips

Can they be totally undone for installation? :D

I’m fitting a Reolink camera and solar panel out the back and can attach it nicely to the cast iron drain pipe (which is helpfully in the perfect spot by the back door). Obviously I can’t remove that pipe so just checking if you can get jubilee clips totally undone, everything I’ve seen just shows them being loosened to fit over the end of a pipe for installation.

Was recommended to use jubilee clips in place of the straps the camera comes with. Anyone done that? Ta.

Awesome thanks guys.

Can recommend a socket and ratchet for fixing and removing, unless you enjoy turning a screwdriver 1,000's of times :D
Good idea, I think I've got one somewhere.

Any issue with this idea too? I'm going to spray them black first. The camera is white but it'll look a bit neater than stainless steel. I'm assuming this will provide way better hold than the straps the camera comes with.

Personally I'd leave them bare stainless, the paint will probably flake relatively quickly and look a bit rubbish

Buy quality stainless to avoid that tell tell sign of a rotting clip.
Paint it and it'll flake off or peel off when tightening up.

7mm or 8mm if I remember correctly.

Unless I’m reading the product specs wrong they’re all tiny. (Seems to be the case for all the black ones).

The circumference of the pipe is ~380mm. Once I realised the clips are measured in diameter I did some GCSE maths and got circa 121mm. Sound right?

Those and all of the black ones I found only go up to ~40mm diameter

Yeah I didn't check sizes tbh and should have just linked to the google search I performed, rather than straight to the forest.

If you didn't already know and I'm not suggesting this, but multiple clips can be joined together.
