hi there just a quick question.....

i've currently got a 120gb seagate ATA hdd

im gonna be upgrading to x2 3800, etc, which means im gonna be getting an SATA hdd, correct me if im wrong but will both hdd's run together?

the board im thinking is asus a8n sli SE....... Because im sure you dont have to set jumpers or anything on SATA hdd's? so maybe this is a really silly question......but thanks in advance......

Is this a new build?

The disc's should be fine together, you just set the boot sequence in the BIOS.

yeah its going to be a new build as below, as i've never had an SATA (my current setup is pants) i just wanted to make sure it would work :)

athlon 64 x2 3800 (avec freezer 64 :D)
2x512 corsair
asus a8n sli-SE
x1800xt/7600GT (funds permitting)
250gb WD SATA

thanks for your help (any improvements you reckon i could make on the new build ? im looking at £650 inc VAT maximum......

don't bother get a SLI board if you never plan on having two graphics cards or you don't play games on large screens. Much better investing in more memory or something.

thanks, but i will be getting an 19" acer monitor to accompany the setup and at some point will go either xfire or sli :)

im not 100% but i think i read that if you're not playing above 1240 x 1080 then you won't see any benefit from SLI. i might have a look around to see if im talking out of my ****.
