Stupid question... i know, but..

You know those little headers you get on the mobo for the harddrive led's and the on/off buton, you sometimes get one for a little speaker which gives you boot up issues.

I dont have have one, but a knackered pair of headphones. If i cut one of the headphones off and put the wire to the speaker header will it work!?

I would have thought the headphones would need a certain amount of current to drive them, a little piezo buzzer could be powered by a rubber band.

just one, cut off from the other and the main stereo conection, the current might be enough to make them come out with the sound i need. IM gunna gice it a try.
