sounds daft, but are warranties etc valid as it'll save a fair bit of cash at todays rates.

It will work as long as you make sure everything's compatible (socket-wise, etc.).

But it isn't recommended.

Which CPU do you plan on importing and how much is it saving you?

i'm looking at a quad core q6600 but its only $266 when shippings added it about the same as here. but there E6750 1333 mhz chips are £90 plus shipping.

They'll be the exact same chips as we have over here.

But you'll need to return them to America if it develops a fault (highly unlikely tho).

And be careful of custom charges too. They can add a fair whack to the price.
