Stupid question - TV image settings per HDMI

Likely a stupid question, but here goes...

Prior to having a soundbar, all devices went to a respective HDMI slot on the TV (Panasonic G20). This give me the ability to have 'Game' mode on the PS4 HDMI input and 'THX' mode on the media centre HDMI input.

Now I have the soundbar, all inputs go to the soundbar HDMI array, with just one HDMI to the TV. Therefore it means I can only have one image setting applied, unless of course I change it manually.

What options do I have?

From the TV you mean? Basically my TV remembers whatever image profile you have assigned on each HDMI input. As the soundbar and all of its devices go solely in to HDMI2 I don't have the option other than to change it manually every time.

I have a Harmony remote so did consider setting up some sort of macro against each activity. Problem is, its quite a lot of menu navigation on the TV menu to change the image profile. Wouldnt be so bad if there was like a singular hot button to scroll through each profile.

Yes it has optical in, so could always route one of the devices directly to the TV.

That said, I've just read up on an old review on my TV which was released 2010. There was no discernible difference in input lag from the game mode versus other image profiles, so my question is now moot...

...at least until I pull the trigger on a 4K OLED when prices come down a little more :)

hutchy what happened to your AVR setup? I believe we either had the same speakers or AVR or both. I was hoping to pick your brains on it.

Had to get rid mate, joys of living in a semi-detached. The old witch nextdoor was banging on the wall even when we were sat watching TV. I got that annoyed at the prospect of all that money tied up in gear I couldn't use to its potential.

I've now got a Yamaha YSP2500 soundbar. Certainly never going to be as good as a full AVR setup but must say its suprisingly good. The pseudo surround has its moments. The sub hits quite hard too.

That said, come the day when we buy a detached house, I'll be going all out!
