Hey,

Really stupid question but its just one of things i aint sure about.

With something like - X1600 Pro 512MB DDR2 AVIVO TV/Out PCI-E

The DDR2 bit, does the motherboard have to be DDR2 supported ... or can u just run it on a normal DDR motherboard which has a PCI-E slot?

Very "noobish" question but i honestly don't know.

Welcome to the board!
No its just what memory type the gfx card has onboard. As long as your ram matches your mobo and its pci-e it will work, Never be afraid to ask as we are always pleased to help.

Welcome to the forums. :)

If your thinking of buying an x1600pro then don't as they are terrible cards.

Remember mate, before you can comment on that you need to be sure of what he uses it for. He may not want a gaming card, just something reasonable and cheap.

Why would you pay out for a card in that range and not be using it for gaming, if its for aps its seriously the wrong card.

For basic use and a cheap card, theres better alternatives.
