Heya guys, in my motherboards bios I have EIST turned off as I always have but for some reason my processor speed is still being altered.

This is a fresh windows install and power options have been customized as I have done for years but its still acting as though speedstep is enabled ???

System specs?

Does speedstep really affect your overall performance? It works very well stepping up when it needs to and only clocks down when the PC itself is idle.

If you don't want to use Speedstep, set Windows Power Options to High Performance. This will over ride Speedstep.

It has been long since I read about the power saving features, since I don't mind them.

However, Speedstep isn't the only tech to downclock the cpu, other features like C1E (Enhanced halt state) also do the same. And god knows what other features by this day, I'm sure you missed a setting in bios that does this!
