Yeah we have all done them, but what console related idiocy are you ashamed of?

Mine’s pretty tame, yet embarrassing.

With the 360, I purchased the wireless adaptor which connects via USB. Anyway as my pad was running down, I had to stop playing online to plug in my P&C kit to charge the pad.

Alas this caused me to curse at the console for having 1 USB port, what a stupid invention…….

All the while, my daughter would continue to put her fingers in that flap in the front of the console, annoying me and making me question the point of having it there…… decided to take a look…. USB ports :o

Now I don’t have that problem, but for my daughter I could still have had USB rage!

Random memory that just sprang back to me.

I was playing Dune 2000 on my PS1 and my Dad came in and watched for a bit. It was a particularly nasty mission and I'd been working on cracking it for quite a while. Just as he was about to walk away I noticed he was leaning on the "Power" button so I shouted "Don't move your elbow!", he'd actually clicked it down so if he walked away it would release and turn the console off . He had to stay there for another 30 minutes, but I got the mission done and saved :D

lol thats quality

on my first run of ff 7 I was stuck in the desert prision for a few hours because i didnt know where to go. I then acedently pressed space bar and the arrows came up to tell me where to go.

Bit my Mega Drive controller and hurt my teeth.

Didn't learn my lesson. Bit my PS1 controller and hurt my teeth.

I simply resort to throwing things now.

I also moved my first 360 from horizontal to vertical while playing a game once. Ooops.

when i first bought my 360 i was like great this is so awesome! and i hadnt even got it out the box. so i set it all up etc etc.. powered it up and was like woah. sweeeet. put pgr3 in as i wanted a bit of a race to see what the graphics were like. i went to start a race and wondered why my pad wasn't working, so i changed the battery's (even though the xbox globe was flashing green i thought it might just be too dead to play), still no luck. i was like wtf is going on here...so i tried my other pad, which also did the same thing. it had me stumped for about an hour, i was scouring the Internet for answers and trying all sorts of methods trying to get them to work. (i almost broke them in fury). turns out i hadn't pressed the connect button on the top...... of either of them.. man i felt so stupid.

I didnt realise about the front USB ports on the 360 for about 3 weeks. Was thinking it should have more than 1 USB port.

Another example why everyone needs to RTFM

I almost spent £50 plus on a brand new sealed GTA Trilogy for the XBOX the other day. I'd already convinced another seller to sell me their used version for £30, but something inside me HAD TO HAVE the sealed version someone else was selling as well. I stepped in at the last minute with a few bids and got as high as £46 (+5 p&p) before I realised how stupid I was being :)

£50 for an old xbox game, sounds stupid when you think about it. The used version turned up this morning too and aside from a few scuffs to the outside its as new, gonna sell it when GTA4 comes out, hopefully get a bit of profit :)

I remember when I first got my 360 I didnt notice the 2 USB's on the front and had my wired controller plugged into the back

Unless you have cracked the force of mavity - I'm pretty sure you mean you Vertical to Horizontal? :p

Can't really remember anything too bad to be honest... I remember in World of Warcraft, when in a raid, everyone said "Don't speak to that guy" and 5 minutes later I come back from AFK and spoke to that guy :p But thats for the PC forum ;)

Staying up pretty much all night getting my gold chocobo without saving for my mum to come in "Have you been on this all night!! blah blah blah" and turned the ps1 off from the wall. Oh i was slightly annoyed lol. I save things a lot now even if i aint lived at home for a few years lol

I bought a PSP. :p

I remember hearing about someone who had joined a group in Guild Wars which was made up with a few humans and AI henchmen filling the gaps. The guy who joined starting chatting to one of the henchies and when he didn't reply he got mad and quit :D

My most memorable and stupid moment was a few weeks ago.
I was in the process of setting up my Logitech 5400'S with optical feeds from my Xbox 360 and PS3.
I was cursing the shoddy fitting of the Opitcal cables to the ports on the consoles and the Logitec header unit.
I was also full of rage that the header unit was not receiving a signal from either of my consoles.
I started blaming the cables and was prepared to take them back to work the following morning and have a word with our supplier.
On a last ditch attempt I took a look at one of the ends of the optical cables only to notice a small plastic cover over it.
2 hours after I had first started setting the kit up, once I had remove all four protective covers hey presto, the cables finally fitted snuggly and the Logitec header until had finally received a signal from both consoles.
Needless to say I felt like a right muppet and my Mrs had a fair bit of fun taking the mickey out of me.
