Stupid Wii question

We've bought the remote charger that plugs into the USB on the Wii.
Do the remotes still charge up when the Wii is in standby?

Yep afaik, the one we bought has lights on the charger station to tell you if wiimote is charging or fully charged.

Lights only come on mine when the Wii is turned on.

There are two separate states of standby on the Wii. If you just turn it off via the power button on the Wiimote then the USB ports still supply power. If you hold in the power button on the console until the light goes red then it doesn't.

Incidentally, I just bought the MadCatz USB docking station, but I have two Wiimotes - anyone know if it's possible to get the battery on it's own as I can just dock them alternately to charge when needed!
