stupidly expensive MP3 players

I have the Sony ZX300 which I bought on a black Friday sale a few years ago for about £500. It is my first expensive player and it does sound pretty awesome. I'd say it was a good investment for me. I'm blind so my hearing is better than most so I can hear the difference in quality from my ZX300 and say a phone or a cheaper player, depending on the quality of the FLAC/DSD file of coarse.

It'll sell in tiny volumes so manufacturing and software costs will be sky high, plus the high price tag gives it some marketing exposure.

My iriver H140 has digital out so can use offboard DAC/headphone amp, got a ibasso d10

My Fiio X5ii plus A5 amp racks up about £450-500 at times of purchase without SD cards and headphones. I wanted a FLAC player and I have not regretted it at all. However, although I have noticed the difference from a cheaper MP3 to the Fiio, I doubt I would notice the difference from a Fiio to something more expensive.
