Getting sick of my body getting wrecked. I'm only 31 but my shoulders and upper back are so freaking knackered as I work in IT and am sitting constantly. This is made even worse with the current work from home situation as I'm sitting for ~8-10hrs, get up to eat dinner or try to get some exercise in, then unfortunately my hobbies mean I'm back in the exact same chair playing games/watching videos/whatever else for the rest of the night.

Looking to get a standing desk converter, but the choices available to the UK seem surprisingly slim. Requirements:

  • I have 2x 23" monitors which I want to mount on arms on the thing
  • I also have my work laptop which I want to have open underneath the monitors when I'm working
  • I still use my old Logitech G11 which is a full numpad keyboard and also has a bunch of extra keys on the left, so the keyboard tray needs to fit this, as well as the mouse
  • My desk should just about fit a 48" converter (it's about 47")
  • Don't want to be forced to spend over the odds for proprietary arm mounts for that specific converter
  • Don't want it to be overly wobbly when extended
I saw the iMovR Ziplift which looks ideal, but it seems unavailable in the UK. Then I saw some from Vari or Vari Desk, but these you need a proprietary £185 (!) monitor arm, which I don't think so.

Anyone have one they use that they'd recommend?

It depends whether you want the arm to fix the monitor in place or allow the monitor to move around. Personally I like the fixed arms. Personally I like the cheap type that you find all over the place like this -
