Stutter at low FPS, caused by mouse?

Hi,

I'm encountering some stuttering issues that I think are related to my mouse. I'm using a 180hz monitor with GSYNC, and the lower my FPS goes, the more stuttering I encounter when moving the mouse. I'm aware that lower FPS will feel less smooth, but I believe the issue is mainly caused by my mouse movements. Motion at 60hz looks smooth enough, until I start moving my mouse around, then the game looks stuttery and inconsistent. Looking at a frame time graph, my mouse movements don't cause any actual frame stuttering, but the actual movement of the mouse feels choppy. At higher framerates, this is not an issue, nor when just using windows. I'm using 1000hz polling rate on my Logitech G Pro Wireless, but adjusting the polling rate does not seem to help. Have also tried various fixes like reinstalling USB drivers, updating BIOS.

I can't seem to find any fix (if there is one), so would really appreciate any tips on resolving this.

Thanks!

have you tried reinstalling the logitech software?
I reinstalled the mouse drivers and tried a completely different mouse, had the same issue.
do you have a controller? can you look around in game with that and see if it looks just a stuttery.
Can't verify with a controller unfortunately.
Which mouse is it? And is the issue across all games?
It's the Logitech G Pro Wireless. Issue is persistent across all games with FPS below the native refresh rate, but seems worse on some games like Squad.

Am I simply seeing more stutter in mouse movements compared to WASD movements, as WASD movements are naturally smoother? Even when my frame times are near flat, my games just feel juddery below ~90 fps.

Try a usb extension lead for the mouse receiver to put it near the mouse and see if the stutter go away.
I had this with my wireless mouse, the mouse receiver is about 1m away.
Had to use the usb extension that came with the mouse to position it near the mouse and the stutter went away.

Yep I had this with my logitech mice as well, their unifying receiver on 2.4ghz is rubbish imo.

Their bolt dongle seems less prone to it imo.

Is the other mouse wireless or wired?

Try using the cable and dongle to move the wireless USB adaptor away from the PC.
It's wireless but I can disconnect the receiver and use wired connection instead. Both feel exactly the same.

Been playing around and discovered that re-tabbing into the game (Alt-Tab) can cause / fix stutters. Not sure why this might be the case?

Also experimenting more with different fps caps, and I've noticed that a cap of 90fps (1/2 refresh rate) feels perfectly smooth, whereas a cap of 100fps feels stuttery, despite fps being higher. I'm using GSYNC + VSYNC so both fps caps should feel identical in theory? Am I missing something?

I'll start a new thread as I'm thinking now the problem may be to do with VRR rather than my mouse. Thanks for the help everyone!
