ok, so fitted my 2500k and installed a few games. really good benchmarks, all smooth with no glitches.
run fifa 2011 is really stuttery so set everything to minimum, still the same.
tried f1 2010 and again, although better, it becomes unplayabe for the last lap or 2 where it was just juddery. whats going wrong? surely my system should cope with these games?
i have tried :
older drivers
disabling CF
lowering all settings to minimum

so im pretty confident its not the graphics cards causing the problem. the games ran flawlessly on my X2 555 (unlocked to tri core).
unfortunatly my hard drive light isnt working with this motherboard, somethingi will investigate over the weekend, so i dont know whether something is running. but if i alt+tab out of game nothing shows up in taskmanager as using anything and going back into the game the problem is still there.

i have also found program seem to take an age to load, so maybe something is amiss with windows?

processor?

I had this issue recently on an older machine of mine, not in gaming but in movie playback, basically I slightly bent one of the pins on the processor (nearly snapped it off) but was quite badly damaged, since then my movies stutter sometimes when I press the keyboard it will stutter the video playback, and sometimes if its really high quality the video and audio will go out of sync as it cant process it quick enough.

hmm........i hope not :( all benchmarks are indicating its ok, i think

just to add, once programs open, they seem to run as expected, they just take an age to open.
i have only tried those 2 games, so its possible something might be up with those settings :( will have to strip everything over the weekend and see if anything looks bent :(
is there any software to test this?

would an overnight prime blend test show if it was a bent cpu/mobo pin?

also, if it was a bent pin, would it not do it all the time in F1 2010, not wait til lap 7 or 8? or am i just trying tofind reasons for it not to be the cpu :(

my front usb 3.0 stopped working too, so i guess tonight i could take it apart and see if there is anything obvious going on. i think the usb issue it when i took it apart to turn the hdd cable around i might of knocked it out of place(well im hoping thats all it is and not a dying/dead mobo).
