Hi all,

We're looking at getting a tablet for our daughters 4th birthday. It'll be used to connect and watch network videos like Pingu, Cbeebies app and her learning apps that she loves.

Thinking around £70 but willing to go up to £100 max.

Any suggestions?

Or a nice child friendly protective cover too although she is very careful with technology it may be wise as some of her friends aren't.

Yeah, I've battled gaming addiction for years so I am very careful what she is allowed to do and for how long.

If it wasn't for the educational value of them she wouldn't be getting one.

Cbeebies app is great, lots of others too. She loves learning and it's costing me a fortune in printing handwriting paper etc :p My S5 is good but i think a bigger screen would be more beneficial.

Both of them look good, but i'm stuck with the windows vs android issue now.

Other than the hudl2 not having NFC it looks great and she's already used to android. Windows is easier to develop for and I'd like to do that too but it also has no NFC or sensors :S Also not knowing what the app store is like for windows devices..

Think it will have to be the Hudl2 :)

isnt there a new amazon tablet for £50?

Yes. And at £50 it seems so disposable I wouldn't be worried if kids dropped or otherwise destroyed it!

Amazon also have a kids ~£100 tablet with a 2 year guarantee - if your kid breaks/destroy it, they replace it free. Which seems a bargain :)

My 9yo and 7 yo both have the hudl2, they are fantastic. They have built in child safety features too which are pretty good. Can limit time and frequency very easily. Any apps installed have to be enabled for the child's account so you will have full control.

They do good protective cases for them also.

My niece got a hudl2 from her grandmother and uses it all the time, shame it does not have wireless charging though.
