Hi,
My mrs has just given me the green light to get a new rig but there are so many to choose from that i'm a bit baffled. It will be used primarily for games and would need vista premium at least.Obviously I would like an 8800gtx but also wouldn't mind a better monitor as I only have a 19" Hanns-g widescreen.
My budget is about a £1000 but I don't have the know how to build one myself.Has anyone seen one they would recomend at this price?

Thnx for the quick reply mofo,
They both look good and the gtx rig would take me right up to my top end budget. At the moment I have an Advent T9103 with an x1950 pro and an upgraded PSU but it's giving my probs with COD etc so I want to upgrade to a rig with the best backbone stuff I can find.

if ya want to build

it may say budget, but it is on of the best out there.... check the MASSIVE thread on OcUK about it. they are shifting like 50+ a day - from gibbo- and are not even TN pannels, they are PVA.

That basket looks like it would make a really nice build but i'm not that great with computers and I can't afford to replace things if I mess it up so I was thinking more like OcUK,Mesh,Chillblast ready made rigs tbh unless you're offering a hand to build it....

I'm in Altrincham which isn't far from Manchester but a bit too far out for you me thinks:( but really nice of you to offer.I really fancy it but I panic when I can't get things to work!

Is an overclocked E6750 better than a Q6600?

Really appreciate all this help guys

Jonny

sorry, its a bit too far. :( :)

Its easy to build though, honestly, nothing can go run if you follow some guides perfectly. the only thing might be a problem, would be a part arriving DOA.

um what do you want to do with the computer? any encoding, or just gaming surfing, etc. any photoshop?

it would be best to try and find a company offering a prebuilt comp with a 45nm dual/Quad core.

genicide: I live in Sale :) Don't be too daunted by the prospect of building your own, it's really quite easy. If you still want to do it and need a hand feel free to give me a shout, i'm in Altrincham most days anyway.

I use my pc primarily for gaming but do the normal tasks too email, surfing etc and do some invoicing and stuff like that but it's mainly 95% gaming and I was hoping to get a pre built one.I also would like as stable a machine as possible .I wouldn't mind trying a small bit of overclocking for the experience but it's not that important to me.

Adrianr...thnx very much for the offer and if I take that route i'll be sure to give you a shout.

Hi guys,
sorry for the bump but am I looking for at overclocked e6750 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...d=1056&subcat= or would it be better to get a more standard machine and treat it to some more ram.I would like a stable machine but want to get as good a build as I can for my money. There are some good q6600s around so would they be better?I have been given really good advice but i'm a bit cautious as it's a lot of cash.If an awesome machine was available I might be able to stretch slightly over but I would still need an OS....Jonny

Ps..should I go for 32 or 64 vista...?

if your not going to build, then i would deffo go with he most recent one you posted. its the best buy, and will last you for atleast 3 years, if not more. please do yourslef a favour and add another 2GB from the selection, and go for the home premium 64bit.

Me again,
thnx for all the help I received and I have now bought http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=FS-052-OK with vista premium 64 and 4gigs of ram.I am really happy with it although vista seems a pain and have got 13.5k in 3D mark so far.I phoned OcUK at about 10:30 on monday morning and they made it in time for me to pick up at 4.00pm that afternoon as I only live 45 mins away and they even carried it to my van as i've just had a hernia op.

Big thank you to everyone that took the time to help a noob and i'm more than happy with the choice we made

Yeah but aren't a lot of those monitors faulty? Backlight bleed etc etc:confused: :)

My Samsung is absolutely fine and a great step up from my 19" Hanns-g widescreen so i'm chuffed but I really don't like the way OcUK Let you buy something on Monday only to find http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-005-OC on offer on wednesday. On almost every review there is a comment about someone buying something only for it to be reduced a couple of days later. In my case I would have bought the one above at that price.....
