Hi all,

I've just completed a new build and am looking to acquire some half decent speakers to provide more immersive music and soundscapes during both my daily work slog (classical music often in the background) and during gaming sessions in the evenings.

What I value most is speakers that are able to provide a distinct soundscape, that feeling that when listening to orchestral music you are actually seated amongst the orchestra. I have other 2.1 and of course 7.1 soundsystems that are fantastic at this but this time I'm seeking to spend a little less and so I'm not expecting miracles, just the best sub 150 pound speakers I can order from overclockers that will provide immersive wide sound from a large deskpace.

Creative? Edifier?

Edifier is your only choice from overclockers in that price point

the R1800 T III @ 89.99
or the R2000 BT @ 169.99

but I would recomend you look at studio monitors like the Tannoy Reveal 402 or JBL LSR 305.

Once you go past £100 there are so many choices.

I went with the Edifier 1800T speakers as a sort of stop gap between getting something a little better. They were also reviewed extremely well across many review sites.

I would still be very interested to hear your thoughts on the Studio Monitors, as these could well be what I will upgrade to down the line.

I have the 1800T's I think that they are great.

Very clear and crisp.

Soundstage I would love to hear your view, I think it will be good but mine are quite close so a little hard to hear.

I think another option may also be bookshelf speakers with a t amp, as these tend to be wider in soundstage although not as precise as studio monitors. As highlighted above though with bookshelf speakers they need to be a few feet apart and ideally you shouldn't be sitting too close.

A few other studio monitors you could look at:

Fluid audio F4
Presonus Eris E4.5
