Can anyone suggest a good kit for bird watching/photography?

Really debating on getting a refurb olympus e-m5 mkii and a 14-150mm zuiko lens.

Any other suggestions?

Canon EOS 7D which has very good AF, reasonable file size, fast burst rate, solid build and durable. Down side Compact Flash memory cards, noise above 800 ISO, older technology.
For £450 you may even get a 7Dii if you buy from members market.

Lenses I would suggest any thing over or up to 300mm

Second hand Nikon kit would be my choice as I know Nikon.

Body, I would prefer to increase the budget to a 7100 but the 5300 is already a few ££ over.

Lens would be the pretty capable DX 70-300 vr

300 is really the bare minimum for birds.

If you just want an id shot at longer ranges one of the superzoom bridge cameras may be better.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think the fact that Nikkon probably have a better arsenal of lenses is a better buy. I think the 55-300 should work.
