I need to get a cheapish laptop for my girlfriend. Mainly for work (MS Office and email), but with a decent enough display for doing a bit of mid-range (i.e NEFF files around 6MB) image-editing.
I reckon the requirements are as follows in descending order of importance:
Display
Battery Life
Robustness (will be hoofed around quite a bit)
Speed/processing power (obviously be nice to run Vista)

Can anyone suggest either a specific model or a general spec. that I should be looking for?

Thanks, as always, any advice will be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Dan.

BTW, I notice that all the lower end notebooks OC sell are out of stock. I assume that's because they're pretty damn good. Mind you, I don't suppose that means we get any leaway in recommending other suppliers so be careful dudes!!!

A well known office store do a Fujitsu Siemens laptop with a Celeron M 1.6GHz, 512MB ram, an 80GB hard drive, Intel GMA950 (or GMA900 - can't remember!) graphics and a 15" screen for £349 inc VAT

It'll be plenty for what she needs, it looked like a nice solid slim laptop and it's cheap!

I saw it a few days ago hence the vagueness in the spec but it was along those lines - hard drive space might be wrong but it did strike me as a good price!
