Hi all
Last night I was listening to some music (2.1 setup - bookshelf speakers, Pioneer SX-N30, 8" mordaunt short Avant 309i sub) and all of a sudden the sub stopped playing back the music and started going mad, doing it's on wubba wubba wubba sound. Best way I can describe it. I turned the amp off, and the sound continued from the sub (all music playback had stopped). I flicked the sub into standby and back on and the sound continued. I yanked the plug in the end. Fast forward to today I fired up some music and thought I'd try the sub again. Plugged it in, power comes on standby led on the rear, flick from standby to active, front led comes on and the sub clicks but nada. Not a peep from the sub.
Does this sound like a typical failure when a sub goes / internal component? Or could it be the outputs on the amplifier? The mordaunt short sub is old, I think it is over 10 years I've had it. The amp is a newer so I was leaning towards the sub being the culprit.
EDIT: Similar thing mentioned here - https://www.fixya.com/support/t5303420-309i_sub_not_working
Cheers.
