Ive had my z-680 speakers for just over a year now, and Ive always had my sub in the middle of a wall, untill I got a new desk and could place it in the corner of the room,, and the sound diff is wowww. I even had to turn the sub down about 5 notches cos it was way to bassy, So now the sub level is 2 away from 0

sub placement depends on the room, the sub, things in the room ect.....there's no real rules, its just about seeing what works best.
i have my two subs smack bang in the middle of my two front speakers. i find it gives me the best image and the least colouration from the subs.
