I've recently got my VR working again, and thought I'd play through Subnautica as a break from flying in DCS.
Question I have is, would I miss out on anything by choosing the mode that means I don't need to scavenge for food or water?
It just sounds like a grind, but I'm not sure.

Done a couple of hours in the game now, and I am a pretty slow gamer, so I've not progressed far and it's quite intense in VR, but I am enjoying it so far.

Am i right in thinking that I don't need to capture fish, as they're jsut food that I don't need in Freedom mode?

Also, an air pump and pipes disappeared on me after the mothership core exploded - I was 150m+ away from the pump at the time.
Is this an event feature, or will air pumps disappear on me if I stray too far away?

I play a lot of DCS in VR for hours on end, but I'm finding that Subnautica is giving me motion sickness after about 30-45 minutes.
Not sure if it's aframe rate issue, or the sheer number of sudden direction changes going on... I think if I continue, it's going to have to be in 2D.
