Hey guys im just fitting my amp to the battery and havent been able to find images of how to do it.

could you guys show me some of your setups and how they are linked the battery?

is a fuse needed if there is one in the amplifier it self?

one thing i noticed when i hooked mine up earlier was a light came up on the amp whilst the car wasnt even turned on! was this using a lot of battery?

thanks very much

i dont know the terms for these things lol... But you should have the main live going to the bettery and fuse inline.. Then ground to bodywork close to amp.. and a remote wire to the head unit to tell the amp to power up when it is needed.

Generally you run a fused live from the battery to the amp, an earth cable from the amp to a decent earthing point in the car. The amp itself will also probably have a fuse in.
You should also have a thin remote live lead which comes from your HU to the amp which switches it on so you don't drain your battery when the amps not in use.

edit: Beaten to it :)

ok.. well i have connected mine to the blue remote wire.. but this light comes on when the car and head unit are off..

today i will take the head unit out again and double check the connection and then i will make sure all other connections are goood....

so are you saying its a good idea to have a fuse in the lead going to the battery as well as in the amp?
